Hate - A Love Story by Laurel Ulen Curtis - Review & Rafflecopter.
The blurb doesn’t give much away, but for those of you who have read Laurels other books you will want to jump on this, and for those who haven’t, now is the perfect time to start!
Review:
Whitney and Blane are best friends, ever since he forced his way into her life in 7th grade. Then along comes Franny. They are a happy little threesome, even when Franny and Blane becomes a couple.
What happens though when things start spiralling out of control, and pressure is put on them which nobody their age should have to deal with? What will happen when they are torn apart, and they can’t cope – Hate.
Laurel took me on a journey. Because that’s what it was. A journey.
This book wasn’t just read, it was lived. You had to live it, the sad moments, the happy moments, the funny moments and the completely heartbreaking moments. Because it had them all.
I loved it all and I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride. The characters were a spectrum of personalities. Whitney’s Gram was probably my favourite. Sharp talking, taking no prisoners, inappropriate and funny as hell!
Whit is very much like her Gram, she is also quick witted and funny.
'When I couldn't think of anything else to do, I went straight to Heather's house and begged her husband to get me as close as he could. Sexual favours were offered (by me), murders were almost committed (by Heather), and a couple of tears we're shed (by Heather's husband Eric when I accidentally kneed him in the balls in the middle of my hysterics).
I thought this book had all the elements I enjoy so much when I read. Fun, devastation and love. 5 stars.
Blurb:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Life can be messy,
And love can be too.
Most people say that it’s not important where you’re going, but instead, how you get there.
Unfortunately for me, the journey to love was absolutely agonizing. Love and Hate wrestled with my life day after day, year after year, and the only way to stop it was to let one of them win.
Which one?
I fought to love harder. But I loathe my love story.
Warning: This standalone novel contains explicit language, sexual content, and potential triggers.

Laurel Ulen Curtis is a 27 year old mother of one. She lives with her husband and son (and cat!) in New Jersey, but grew up all over the United States. She graduated from Rutgers University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology, and puts that to almost no use other than forecasting for her friends and writing a storm chasing heroine! She has a passion for her family, laughing, and reading and writing Romance novels. She’s also addicted to Coke. The drink, not the drug.
