Firstly, what a cover!
This is very well written, with great structure, but with E.K Blair I expected nothing less.
A story which evokes a range of emotions in the reader. Keeping you literally on edge and unwilling to put the book down until you have read to the very end. E.K’s very descriptive style of writing turns this book into one of those which turn into your very own private movie!
The characters are relateable and you can’t help but fall in love with them the more and more you read.
“ And though she be but little, she is fierce.”
We meet Candace Parker a soon to be fine arts college graduate, who longed to be a professional ballerina. Candace’s parents , more so her mother, disapproved of Candace’s dream, as to her very privileged self ‘image’ is everything! After a few unfortunate events Candace is strong and determined enough to prove to them she can do what she always dreamed of with or without them! With support from her gay best friend she gets on with life.
Queue super handsome bar owner- Ryan Campbell, (I want me one of these!) with a thing for the coffee girl! Life gets a whole lot more interesting and complicated! Without giving away the story things are edgy and hot keeping the readers glued to the very end while both Candace and Ryan sort their issues out.
I absolutely loved this book! The only downer I would say, was I felt a little like Candace’s issues went on a little bit too long, I understand Candace went through awful incidents so it was to be expected to a certain degree. It didn't ruin the book for me though so only a very minor point!
All in all I would recommend this book and give it 4 stars!
