In Silence Oakley is a seriously messed up kid who hasn't spoken in 11 years, Cole is the next door neighbour, best friend that's always been there for her. I always love a best friend turned lover romance so this did not disappoint. Cole sees Oakley the way nobody else does, he cares for her in a way that nobody else can and you can't help but get caught up in the beautiful love they share.
The reason for Oakley's silence is handled carefully and respectfully. Although it's a tough subject it's one that unfortunately happens a lot. For that reason at times I was close to tears.
This ending is definitely a cliffy and had I been anywhere near Natasha when I read this, I would've hit her around the head with her own book. Luckily I had Broken Silence to jump straight into and it mended my heart. The trials that Oakley still has to go through in broken silence are painful and in no way easy, but we definitely see her growing up along the way.
Throughout both books there are very strong secondary characters in the form of Jasper and Mia. I loved the light that they bought to what is at times, an emotional read.
The second I put broken silence down I picked up Players, Bumps and Cocktail Sausages. I couldn't not read it, I'd fallen hard for Jasper in the two previous books and I needed more. Whilst his story wasn't as dramatic as the Oakley's it shared the same sadness and elation.
Jasper is Oakley's gorgeous, caring, teasing and at times overbearing big brother. I fell for him in Silence and that was it, there was no way back for me. What I love about this book is we see Jasper's weak side, I love a gorgeous guy who needs to be loved, so this was a perfect read for me.
All in all they are easy, lovey reads but Natasha's ability to throw in a twist when you think all is well, is there throughout, don't ever think you're safe! I devoured all 3 books in 6 days and felt a range of emotions. I can not believe they were sat on my kindle for so long!!
