Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him?
Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. Because getting too close could flood her with realities better left buried.
The trouble is, water always seems to find its way to the surface.

Review
I'm going to start by saying this is probably the hardest review I've ever written, firstly because no matter what words I write they will not do justice to the ones I read within Burying Water, secondly I want to keep it spoiler free and thirdly because I'm going to have to try so hard not to totally fangirl.
I fell in love with K.A's writing when I stumbled across Ten Tiny Breaths, by the time I'd read one tiny lie I was a total Tuckeraholic and the rest as they say is history. I know what you're thinking 'aah shes a fangirl she's bound to give it 5 stars' but the problem with adoring a series as much as I adored TTB is that there is this huge expectation from the next series. When that next series is so different from the one you fell in love with it's scary even picking up the book. However I picked it up and started to read and from the first chapter I was hooked.
We start with Jesse (cute, misunderstood guy) talking about the past, in the midst of an accident and we have no idea what has happened or why. We are then introduced to Alex/Jane/Water (downtrodden trophy, wife) and led through chapter by chapter with their alternate POV and timings. Alex is left with memory loss and as a reader the way the story is set out you are discovering things about her at the same time she is and because of that you don't just read the words on the page you feel them. I know the sound of past and present chapter after chapter sounds totally screwed up and has the potential to be confusing but it really isn't. I found myself finishing a chapter about the past and sulking because I needed more and didn't want to read about the future just yet and then one page into the future paragraph I was hooked and didn't want to go back. It's an enthralling ride and the layout although unconventional just flows effortlessly.
One thing K.A. stays true to is her ability to write serious drama within her romance. The characters are flawed and have a lot to get through and like all her past characters they're relateable and compelling. Jesse and Water's story is one of hope, love, resilience and most of all survival.
The storyline is so different to anything I have previously read, it's original, refreshing and exhilarating. Its a book that you can't put down but at the same time you don't want to end. The fact that its so beautifully executed gives even more weight to the story and highlights the awesome piece of writing that is Burying Water.
I implore you all not to 'bury' this within your never ending tbr list it deserves to rise to the top 'just like water'.
